Dear Cap Donald Tannenbaum, Thank you for your service as a Special Forces Qualified Infantry Unit Commander. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is summer. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Captain Donald Charles Tannenbaum was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action. He served as a Special Forces Qualified Infantry Unit Commander. He was assigned to DET B-43 (CHI LANG), D CO, 5TH SF GROUP.

You gave your life for your country 46 years ago, in a place far away. Your brothers in 1st Special Forces Group remember you today, and a new generation of dedicated young soldiers follow in your footsteps. They will not falter, they will not let you down.
