With respect
When I was in the US in 2001 I also visited the Vietnam War Memorial, and it made a profound impression on me. All those names, all those fates and grieving families! I looked if there were veterans with the same surname as mine, and there you were Terence Ronald Tangen! Seeing your young age made tears coming in my eyes although I know there are countless who have suffered the same fate as you. I have since never forgotten your name. I am totally sure one day you will see your loved ones again, in fact we all have an eternity to meet.

Remembering an American Hero
Dear PVT Terence Ronald Tangen, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
