Thank you, Melvin.
Melvin and met in middle school. He was the funniest kid and kept us in trouble because he kept us laughing, in class and out. After graduation, we lost contact when he relocated with his mother to Kansas City. We would have high school class reunions each year and we missed Melvin. We had no idea he had been drafted. Somebody suggested we check The Wall. We found his name some thirty years later. I love you, I miss you, and I know you are up there keeping it real and making the angels laugh.

Thank You
Dear Sp4 Melvin Sullivan, Thank you for your service as an Armor Crewman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was the 78th anniversary of Operation Overlord. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I was there
We were good friends and we would do a whiskey toast every evening before guard duty and coffee in the morning. We had the toast once again and you went to your tank . Later that night we were surrounded by NVA tank busters. 2 RPGs missed my tank and one hit your. We never had coffee the next morning. Some day we will meet and have coffee. Miss you brother.
