Capt. Barry Bowman is buried at San Francisco National Cemetery in San Francisco, California.

Captain Barry Alan Bowman, Served with Company B, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, United States Army Vietnam.

Captain Bowman: Thank you for serving our country. Your father was a teacher at Aragon High School in 1971, where I was a student. Your death touched us very deeply. We played taps in your honor with our hands on our hearts. As I recall, we planted a tree in your honor and placed a plaque nearby. I said a prayer of thanks to your and your fellow soldiers at the Vietnam Memorial wall in Washington, DC. God bless you. You will never be forgotten.

MEMORIAL DAY IS APPROACHING, BUT ALL DAYS WE SHOULD HONOR YOU. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE.
