Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Dear Sp4 Gail Strickland, Thank you for your service as an Armor Reconnaissance Specialist. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Memorial Day weekend , and we honor you. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Specialist Four Gail Lynn Strickland was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action. He served as an Armor Reconnaissance Specialist and was assigned to AERO RIFLE PLT, D TRP, 3RD SQDN, 5TH CAVALRY, 101ST ABN DIV.

Gail was my cousin. I was small child when he was KIA. I remember his funeral and the full police honor escort to Eller Flats Cemtery. He gave his life for our country and to defend freedom.
