Mark is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Watertown, Codington County,SD.

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Mark Ernest Stoltenburg, for your courageous and valiant service, your years of faithfully contributing, and your most holy sacrifice given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Marine, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

Again, thank you Corporal Mark Ernest Stoltenburg, for a job well done!

I don't know Mark, but all Marines are brothers in arms. July 21, 1966 is a sad day for me because I lost my brother, PFC Pedro Martinez during Operation Hasting. He was with Hotel, 2/1. Today is the 37th anniversary since you perished Mark, I honor your service and your supreme sacrifice. Take your warrior's rest for a duty well done. Sempre Fi, Marine

Semper-Fi, I remember my first visit to the wall, 1990, Nov. Cold, rainey, stood there and the feeling hit that the rain was the tears of those who had gone before for those of us left behind! Have had the opportunity to visit many time since; however the Korean memorial says it well " Freedom is not Free" those who have not shared the reality will never understand! Maybe now after Sept 11th it will set in!
