We spent the summer together

We were 16 and hitchhiked to Washington state for work.
All those days in school and riding home on the bus planning our adventure.
Many lonely hungry nights. Loved the adventure and remember every day.
I served in country in 1968. It was hell. Wish I could have served with you.
I have been to the wall and placed my hand on your name.
I salute you and remember you.

Remembered

DEAR PFC BOWDISH,
THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A FIELD ILLUMINATION CREWMAN WITH THE 108TH ARTILLERY GROUP. TODAY IS MOTHER'S DAY. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS.

Seen you just before you left

We were in laws, my sister Pat was married to your uncle Duane Bowdish. I was a kid when you left for the service. You were missed and you still are.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Keven Wayne Bowdish, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
