FAR IN TIME, A SALUTE TO MY DISTANT COUSIN

Hi cousin. I am Luciano Trono, your long distant cousin from Argentina. My grandmother was Dora Lidia Bovio; you and I share the same great-grandfather Pietro Bovio. In the last two years I lost my dad, and very recently my uncle Sandro died too. They were both children to Dora.. Sandro had a huge regard for our family's history and managed to track your name down: I only had to google it to find this memorial and see your face! Thank you for bravery, I hope you met my dad and uncle in Heaven.. To my blood.. I salute you.

Bovio and I were in different platoons so I didn't know him well, but he was one of those men that is easily remembered, always a positive attitude and good word. One thing I'll always recall, one night we officer candidates were given a rare opportunity to relax and enjoy ourselves. This included entertaining ourselves. The most memorable event was Bovio singing a song popular at the time "I Feel Good!" Seems to me he could sing it better than the guy who recorded it! He was a pleasure to be around. May he rest in well deserved eternal peace.
