Specialist Four David Wayne Starcher was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight. He served as a Flight Qualified Helicopter Repairer and Air Crewman. He was assigned to C TRP, 7TH SQDN, 17TH CAVALRY, 1ST AVIATION BDE.

DearSp4 David Starcher, Thank you for your service as a Flight Qualified UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. Your 51st anniversary is soon, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. The 47th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
