We never got to meet.
To my "Uncle Billy"...
I am your nephew, son of your brother Bobby. You were taken from this family a year before I was born. Having the opportunity to hear stories of your from your old long ago classmates, makes me feel a connection to you. Although you were 20 years older than me, I feel as though we would have had a great relationship. A long time ago in my early teen years, my Dad gave me your rifle from Vietnam. I have it to this day, and will never part ways with it. If I could speak directly to you, or know you could hear my words, I would first thank you for your services, and sacrifice you have given. Second, I would tell you that I look forward to meeting you face to face when my time comes. Until then Uncle Billy, there is a place in my heart where the thought of you lives.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your sister Susan is especially poignant. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us.
