John was an idol.
John graduated from Milford High School in 1965. There he met his future wife Ellen who was my sister’s best friend. I was 10 years younger and idolized John every step of the way. His loss moved me to tears then and it still does today. Thanks for your service and sacrifice John.

High School & School Bus Friend
John and me were in the same class and we rode the same school bus to good old MHS class of 64.. John was a Brainiac in high school so it was no surprise to hear John was accepted to West Point. I was shocked when he became a chopper pilot, as I figured he would be a desk jockey instead of a combat chopper pilot. John served in the same Division as I did, (!01st Airborne) . As a tribute to John and Cliff Lefler and Rodney Huddeleston , classmates all KIA in Vietnam, I had dog tags made for each with Name, Rank, Branch of service, date of death and location on the VietNam memorial. I added these to my army dog tag chain with instructions to my children to be placed around my neck in my coffin when it is my turn.
John, Cliff and Rodney are heroes of the highest order and I think of them more and more as I get closer to my end date. I hope I get to see them when it is my turn, but the way I led my life, I'm not so sure that I will.
Rest In Peace, John, Cliff & Rodney
