Remembering a LRRP
My late husband, Jim Morton, was Steven’s First Sgt in the Ist Inf Div LRRP Company…he spoke often of Steven and the other members of the team KIA….we looked for their names on our many trips to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington…..since my husband’s death, I continue to remember.

Thank You
Dear PFC Steven Sorick, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I researched you on your 73rd birthday, happy birthday. The 55th anniversary of the start of your tour is soon. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was Palm Sunday, and Passover is soon, too. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Steven Paul Sorick, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

A Buddy and Fellow LRRP
Steve Sorick was a great guy and friend of mine in Co.F/52nd Inf.(LRP), 1st Inf.Div from Feb-July 68. Though he was on a different team, Steve, Bill Cohn, Paul Elsner and I were always hanging out together whenever in Lai Khe at same time. We were supposed to meet at Santa Monica Beach, California when we were both back from The Nam, but it was not to be. It was a terrible tragedy when Steve, Bill Cohn, the rest of their team and the helicopter crew were killed when their aircraft was downed while trying to make an emergency extraction of their team under fire near the Cambodian border. I have missed him all these years and still do. Rest in Peace, buddy.
