He was my friend
Sam and I were friends as children and played together often. We drifted apart when we went to different schools--especially high school--but, whenever we saw each other, would still smile and speak. I always had a bit of a "crush" on Sammie, though he never knew. I cherished his friendship, the good times we had together and think of him often. Very grateful for his service to his country and his sacrifice.
