Thank You
Dear Sgt Robert Smith, Thank you for your service as an Armor Crewman, Your 52nd anniversary just passed, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Spring has begun, and it's Lent. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Robert Michael Smith, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

I still Miss you
Mike, as we called him, was nothing special.
He was not a stand out athelte.
He was not a great student.
Yet Mike WAS SPECIAL.
He was a leader.
It didn't matter what season it was
the neighborhood played whatever
Mike wanted. He was the leader in the hood.
No one made a decision without checking with Mike.
We were and still are the only high school kids
to have played in the industrial basketball league
thanks to Mike.
Mike will never grace another basketball court,
throw another td pass or hit another home run.
That has been my loss. BUT Mike continues to lead
I try to live in a way that would please two men
both gone from earth : my father and
ROBERT MICHAEL SMITH
Rest in peace my friend I miss you still.
