Dear Cpl Richard Smith, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Spring has begun, and it's Lent. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Rick and I were in boot camp together. He was a squad leader. Even then he showed quiet leadership skills. I'm sure he became an excellent grunt nco and gave his all for those who counted on him.

The memorial will include the names of 130 service members from Montgomery County who were killed or reported missing in action during the Vietnam War. Montgomery County is inviting the community to participate in the May 21st dedication ceremony. We are expecting and hoping that many of the family members will attend and will have VIP seating.
