Honoring Your Ultimate Sacrifice
Major Bors, I started wearing a POW/MIA bracelet with your name on it in the fall of 1971. At the time, I was a young wife to a young student pilot going through pilot training in Texas. Every time I have the opportunity to be in the D.C. area, I always visit the Vietnam Wall to find your name. I remember you were a navigator in the RF-4, the same plane as my husband flew during his 20 years in the USAF. With your birthday, April 20th, being so close to his, April 22nd. I have always felt a closeness to you and your family. I learned the USAF promoted you, posthumously, to Lt. Col.
My prayer is that your loved ones, through the generations, will always know how much my family and I, as well as fellow Americans, will always value your sacrifice made for our freedom. It was my honor and privilege to wear a POW/MIA bracelet in your memory. God Bless You.

Never Forgotten
Maj Joseph Bors was the name on my POW bracelet, which I wore for many years. I still have it and will never forget him. Rest in peace, Major Bors.

Never Forget
I have been wearing Col William Richard Cook's MIA/POW bracelet since I was 17, I am now 64. I gave your, Capt. Joseph C. Bors MIA/POW bracelet to a young man I work with, explaining the importance of never removing it until you, Capt. Joseph C. Bors are home. In my lifetime when either of you return, I will be there to meet you. I pray I can contact both your family’s, just to hug them. Be it in New York or Minnesota.
Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice.
Laura
