I remember Smitty
I often remember Michael and his close friend Medford Chrysler. Medford used to call me 'horse'. (I carried a large, heavy radio.) They were an M60 machine gun team attached to my squad, 1st Plt, Alpha 1/9 and died within hours of each other on 2 July 1967 - a day on which the battalion took over 90 other KIAs. I will never forget either of them.
