Although I have never met you, our family still remembers you and thinks foundly of you, my dear Tío. Your picture is hung, your flag on display, and your memory lives. Mom still remembers shinning your shoes and playing at your feet. Thank you for your service this day and all days Uncle Larry. We love you and I love you.

You and I were there at the same time as Marines with the same unusual last name. I came home. I was the lucky one. We both served yet our fates could easily have been reversed. I've thought of this many times brother. Rest in peace and Semper Fi.
