Dear Sgt Robert Smeal, Thank you for your service as an UH-1 Helicopter Repairer with the 1st Cavalry. Your 54th anniversary is in 6 days, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Winter will end soon, and Lent has begun. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Today, January 31, 2021, would have been your 74 birthday, and I find myself still waiting for the doorbell to ring and when I open the door, you will be standing there. My heart still aches and there are tears in my eyes as I realize you will never be there. It has been 53 years of hoping for something that will never happen, so now little brother, I will begin the journey of looking forward to the day when we will meet again in the presence of our heavenly father . I am so grateful to have had such a wonderful brother in my life. Till we meet again, Carol
