Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. Your Navy Cross citation attests to your courage and devotion to your fellow marines. It remains my fervent hope you will be returned home after the passage of so many ears.

Tonight, Dave…
I walked along The Wall tonight in Washington DC, Dave. It was just a real sad thing. I look at your photo and you so just as real and “fresh” as you did in Forestry School at the Univ of Illinois. There was no doubt of where you were headed after school; no doubt about your courage and commitment. I never went to Vietnam but was sent to South Korea instead. I thought about you and wondered how it went for you. It’s been a lot of years gone by now. I learned of your fate sometime back but no details until a few years ago. I just want you (and your loved ones) to know that you are absolutely not forgotten. It’s a mighty sharp memory tonight and made sharper by walking past all those names in search of yours.

Thank you, Sir
I was 5 when you paid the ultimate price for our Country. When I was 13, about 44 years ago I received a POW bracelet with your name on it. I have honored you and have worn it all these years. I just came across this site after googling your name. I’ve always wondered what ever happened to you. After reading your story I can’t help but feel as if I lost a part of my family and the tears are falling. My heart aches for you and your family. You Sir, are not forgotten. I will continue to wear this with Pride as you are and have been my hero.

Thank You
Dear Lt David Skibbe, Thank you for your service as an Infantry Officer. You are still MIA. Please come home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Winter will end soon. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Be at peace.
