Uncle Pete
Just found this sight, I have been to the wall and have a rubbing of your name! I was 13 years old when you sacrificed your life to keep this Great country free. You where always my hero as a child and now you are a National hero. I posted pictures of you and an unknown Marine, I have always wondered who this Marine is? If anyone knows please post it here and how to contact him. See ya on the other side one day. Your Nephew Chauncey Gatterdum

Best Friend
Al and I were best friends. We were stationed together and I was the best man at his and Gloria's wedding Also, when he was KIA I along with other Marines notified Gloria of Al being KIA while serving with the 7th EngBn. I have lost touch with Gloria over the years but I hope she is well and I think of her often. I still miss my friend.

Happy Father's Day
Wanted you to know that I was thinking of you yesterday on Father's day. I wish I could remember more about you. I have very few memories as I was only 5 when you were killed and had been deployed since 5/20/1966.
I was looking at the photo of you and my mother just last week, and noticed that on the back of the photo, was the date you left El Toro Air Base for Vietnam. 5/20. This is the same day that I got married to my husband - which was at the time, just a random date for a ceremony in California. Oddly enough, I married a man that lived only 15 miles from where I was born. Life is funny.
Hope you and mom have mended any differences you may have had.
