Donald Shute.
I remember from my days in 1969 and thru the 70s how random local news would be reported on Donald Shue still MIA. I was married to a niece of his sister who kept the family informed. Years later when he was confirmed KIA the family had closure. On April 30, 2026 I’m reading “On the Ground, The secret war in Vietnam”. On page 202 I read where Sgt Donald M. Shue was reported as presumptive KIA on Nov 3, 1969. This hit me like a ton of bricks.
God rest his soul.
God rest his soul.

we will remember them.....
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Wore your POW/MIA bracelet
I got your bracelet back in the early 70’s. I was 17–18 yrs old. I lived in Charlotte NC. I remembered all these years that you were from Kannapolis which is not far from me. I wore that bracelet until the war was over. I always tried to find out what happened. Somehow I missed the news on 2011 when you were found.
I just got back from DC. I toured the Memorial. I had taken my bracelet with me. I was so sad when I found your name. But I am sure it did your family & friends so much good to have you finally at home.
Thank you so much for your service. If any of your family wants my bracelet I will be glad to send it to them.

Saluting you
Dear Donnie, Glen, John, Julian, Lothar
I saw this video and was touched by it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWatKEGgS5o
At the very end, when I saw those WWII veterans saluting, I thought that they were not saluting their friends only, but all those who fought in every war and gave so much, like you.
Yes, I thought of each one of you, brothers, and I'm join them in saluting you.
With admiration and everlasting gratitude, until we can meet across the Gates of Life, I hope.
Nick
