Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten you. I chair the Adoption Committee for The National League of Families of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action in Southeast Asia. We will always remember the 1,889 Americans still unaccounted for in Southeast Asia and the thousands of others that lost their lives. We will not stop our efforts until all of you are home where you belong.

We need to reach the next generation so that they will carry on when our generation is no longer able. To do so, we are attempting to locate photographs of all the missing. If you are reading this remembrance and have a photo and/or memory of this missing American that you would like to share for our project, please contact me at:

Remembrance

I was privileged to know, however briefly, Jerry "Mad Dog" Shriver. I was a young artillery lieutentant serving at Plei Djereng when he arrived on "R&R" to spend a few weeks in the Plei Trap Valley with us. He was fearless in combat and bigger than life itself. I often think of him. He is always in my prayers.

My POW/MIA Bracelet

I never met you, but I have had your POW/MIA bracelet since 1971. I had heard you were incredible. My husband and I met a Vietnam veteran at The Wall in D.C. that knew you and he said you were one heck of a soldier. I still have your bracelet and it is displayed along with James Michael Ray's bracelet under a lithograph print of "Reflections" by Lee Teter. I was married to a sailor who served aboard the U.S.S. St. Paul off the coast of Vietnam in 1967. The War was very much a part of my life. Thanks for everything.
