Sadness in my heart for over 50 years
Alan and his brother Barry lived right next door to me In Easton, PA. I was around 13 years old when I remember Alan being drafted into the Vietnam War. I am now 69 years old and I have never forgotten Alan and the day they came to tell his mother he was killed in the line of duty. I have never forgotten that horrible feeling we all shared and continue to share for Alan. Alan may have died in the war, but he has never been forgotten by this young girl for who he was and he has never been forgotten by this matured woman for his bravery and sacrifice in life. God bless him and his family. They will be in my heart forever.

I never knew you
I never knew you,
I only know your face,
But you left this world with such dignity and grace.
your family loved you
and it broke their hearts,
You were so young, your life had just begun to start.
Take this poem and this prayer
That we will see you again
As you prepare a place for us there.
Rest in his glory Alan.
