MEDAL OF HONOR FOR BONNER
Miss my Big Brother everyday.
A “white washed” Bronze Star Citation for (4)Medal of Honor actions in a single fire fight.
22 yo Sgt Freddy Bonner radios that he thinks his position is surrounded. At that moment, the VC open up with RPG‘s and machine gun fire. His squad is taking on casualties when his machine gunner goes down. His Patrol about to be overrun, Sergeant Bonner ran through a barrage of enemy fire to get to the wounded man, under fire, giving first aid to his Comrade, took over the machine gun, laying down the weathering base of fire on the advancing Viet Cong, inflicting heavy casualties on the VC before being Mortally wounded with a close range AK-47 round to the chest. 37 VC killed, scores wounded. Freddy and his men unknowingly dismantled a company size contingent of Viet Cong, intending to overrun every American patrol in the sector. Broken into splinter groups, the remaining VC were later killed or captured. Catches of weapons, first aid, Maps, and supplies were discovered. A Two Star General was flown to the Sector and ordered it bombed out. (Generals don’t go to war zones )The intelligence failure, Commander incompetence, swept under the rug, so nobody lost their pensions. See Facebook page “Medal of Honor for Bonner”.

do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
