Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just three days before your 20th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Dear Sp4 Wesley Shelton, Thank you for your service as a Flight Qualified Aircraft Maintenance Apprentice. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Valentine’s Day. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

On the remembrance of your 69th birthday, your sacrifice is not forgotten.

I never had the privilege to meet this man. He was my grandmother's childhood friend. She always said if she had a son she would name him Wesley. She had two daughters. When my mother learned she was pregnant with a boy, she remembered my grandmother telling her about Wesley. She named me after him. Although I never got to meet him, I will carry his memory on with me and share it whenever possible.
