Best neighbor, best friend.

Your house was back door to back door to our house in Westborough, MA. You were the cool guy from California. We spend a lot of time together in our High School days. I remember you trying to tell a Massachusetts kid what a "skate board" was from a California kid. We dismantled the metal-wheeled skates we had and you built skate boards for us in our basement. I went off to college and joined the Air Force to avoid being drafted in to the Army. Ended up a North Vietnamese linguist spying on North Vietnam on combat missions for a couple of years. After the loss of Skip Cole, our good buddy, I could not believe it when I heard you had been shot down and lost. Your vibrant life and dear friendship will always be remembered by those of us still alive BUT, with your name on the Westborough, MA Vietnam Veterans Memorial you will always be a hero remembered for the ultimate sacrifice we wish you had not endured. I'm proud to have my name on the memorial but lucky it was in veteran's category, not KILLED IN ACTION. Thanks for all, my friend, Bob

My Date for Graduation Night from GRHS

We were both so restless to get on with our lives. You were the smartest boy I had ever met -- book smart. Life smart. And very gifted. We could be silly together one moment and then have some serious conversations about a lot of things. You were a good friend. And I was so happy when you asked about graduation night. We partied. Went to the shore. Everything graduation night should be. Ironically, I was at GRHS graduation 3 years later when Mel Klein said he had some bad news. I sat there frozen thinking it was just yesterday when we were up on that stage moving on with our lives -- leaving GR. Me ke aloha pumehana, my dear friend. Linda Brock

DEAR CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER BONNIE,
THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE AS AN UTILITY/OBSERVATION HELICOPTER PILOT. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS. IT WAS JUST EASTER - GOD'S BLESSINGS ON YOU.

Pepsi car

Tom was older than me, and he didn't know me. I remember him being so cool. He drove around Glen Ridge in the Pepsi car used in a tv commercial. Thank you Tom.
