Thank You

Dear Lcpl Steven Shekell, Thank you for your service as a Supply Administrative Man. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is another new year. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Finding a cousin

You descended from a wonderful family who are proud of you. Your grandmother Edna (Taylor) Shekell is my cousin. Her mother, Margaret Ella (Perry) Taylor is my great aunt. Your family is full of men who served. You are not going to be forgotten.

Remembering a friend

I remember your smile and your happy go lucky self. You are still thought about, in fact I had a great conversation with your best friend Dick not so long ago about you. You touched so many lives of the people close to me and that made a big hole when you passed. Until we meet again.

Your friend,
Gerri

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Steven Edward Shekell, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
