Claiborne and I joined the USMC in 1965. We rode the same Greyhound bus from Tucson Arizona to MCRD San Diego. We were together in Platoon 239 during Boot Camp. He was a true friend, and I was truly saddened to hear of his passing. "SEMPER FI BROTHER"

Dear Lcpl Claiborne Shaw, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Your 75th birthday is soon, happy birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is another new year. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
