Thank You
Dear Sp4 Kenneth Schneider, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Merry Christmas. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Ground Casualty
Firebase Ross (also known as Hill 51) was a U.S. Marine Corps, Army and Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) base located in the Que Son Valley southwest of Hoi An, Quang Nam Province, in central Vietnam. In early 1968, the 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division had its headquarters at Ross. In the early morning hours of February 11, 1968, an enemy force launched a mortar attack against the base. E Company, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division was at Ross during this time and its mortarmen immediately began counter-mortar fire. While trading fire with the enemy, one member of the mortar squad, SP4 Kenneth E. Schneider, was fatally wounded when an enemy round impacted near him. Schneider had only two weeks to go on his tour of Vietnam. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star for heroism during the attack.
