I served with him

Our group was called Primo Aviation Section. I was on the VR that day flying as the door gunner on the back-up Loach with a mini-gun mounted on the other side. The pilot and I saw WO Bois' chopper go down and went down a picked up the survivor, SSgt Ruiz I think his name was. He had been thrown clear. Took him to the closest LZ and hurried back to the crash site. Landed and dug through the wreckage in the rice paddy and eventually pulled WO Bois out enough to give mouth-to-mouth (the pilot did) but it was too late.

Never forgotten

My husband and I always visit the "traveling Vietnam Walls", when we are up in MA. When we are in Florida, we visit the "permanent Wall" in Punta Gorda 2-3 times a winter.. It is a very peaceful spot, and we have a list of classmates , friends' brothers or Vietnam buddies that we visit. Dickie is always the first , as we were South Peabody kids and PHS 1965 classmates. We have friends(who have lost someone or was in Nam), who just cannot go to the Walls, and that is understandable-we go for them. Never forgotten
