Dear PO2C Michael Schafernocker, Thank you for your service as an Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class. Glad you were found in 1970. Welcome Home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the 3rd week of Advent, Christmas is soon. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I am all I am because of you...

I have known your name most of my adult life. Although I never physically met you, your name and picture are etched in my mind. I stood and prayed for you and your fellow comrads as I read each name aloud at a museum wall 20 years ago. I promised you I'd live my life in honor of yours.
I will continue to honor your bravery with every breath I take.
It is because of you that I can proudly stand tall, free and alive.

I miss the laughs we and your brother Ronnie had in your all’s garage making ice cream for your mom & dad. We had a lot of laughs before you left for the Navy and only sorrow afterwards, but our remembrance make me hold my head up, love you my brother- Ronnie Downs
