I remember and am grateful for your service!

Billy was the son of my babysitter, Marie Alamed, when his life was cut short in battle. I will never forget him and my appreciation of his service will forever remain in my heart. I was just a little girl and his was the first funeral I ever attended. My heart was broken because he was such a kind individual.

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

To the family of Wm Alamed

I served with Alpha company and the third platoon when they were attacked during the early morning of 10 March 1970,
Over the years I have attended reunions and
Consider it an honor to gather with those who were
With us on that fateful day.

My sentiments and prayer go out to the Alamed and
extended family as they reflect back on the life of
their loved one.
