May 31, 2021. Memorial Day
Was up there today at 5:40 AM. Just me, Walt, and the 31 other guys with him.
22 soldiers, 9 Marines, 1 USAF "Fly Boy". I was both honored and humbled to be up there with them. As I waited for the Sun to rise over the eastern hills I prayed The Lord's Prayer aloud. A VN era Marine myself I told them how sorry I was they were denied their lives while I was allowed to live mine. Then I thanked them and left.

Time Passed
So many years have flown by but it seems like only yesterday we were at Ft. Benning completing OCS. And then, in a few months afterwards, on our way to Viet Nam. Your memory is always present.
