A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world

Dear Lcpl David Sandvig, Thank you for your service as a Machine Gunner. Your 73rd birthday just passed, happy birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Thanksgiving was yesterday. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I am so proud to be your Nephew, LCPL David "Lion Heart" Sandvig. I had become a Marine because of your legacy you left. To all that served with him I thank you. May you rest in peace Uncle David.
