Remembering Private First Class Thomas Michael Sands, U.S. Marine Corps, La Salle Boys High School Class of 1964, on what would've been his 76th birthday - 13 January 2022.
He is one of 4 La Salle H.S. graduates to make the ultimate sacrifice in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. His 3 fellow alumni are:
1. LT Bruce Rowe, USN, VF-92, USS Constellation; Class of 1962
2. 2LT Vincent Duffy, USA, 3/D/3-22 Inf, 25 Inf Div; Class of 1964
3. SP4 Edward Shelton, USA, B/2-47 Inf, 9 Inf Div; Class of 1964

One Great Guy
We, served together at An Hoa,Hill 42,Hill 55 went to Okinawa together and returned to Vietnam and went to Camp Carroll.Our squad was broken up and I went out to D 9 and old abandoned Green Beret out post.I never saw you againbut I never forgt you either.You were often a breath of laughter in a tough time.Semper Fi!
