An American Patriot
Carl and I were in the same platoon at The Basic School in Quantico. He was a true patriot. I had the honor of making a speech on Memorial Day at the VA Hospital in Big Spring, Texas, many years ago. I noted that the closest I would ever be to Carl again was when I had the opportunity to rub my finger across his name at the Viet Nam Memorial in Wash. D.C. I will never forget Carl.
