Remembering you!
Richard my ‘new’ brother and hero. I wish instead of writing this I could be telling you to your face what a hero I think you are and what an awesome sister you have. Karen has become so special to me and I know you would be just as special as she is. This year we are going to be together on 11/09 doing something that is very important to us and that is reading yours and my brothers name in remembrance of what you gave up for us. October 27, 1968 is a day that neither me or Karen will ever forget, it is a day that will be attached in our minds forever but now that we have each other it makes things just a little bit easier and especially knowing that you and Johnnie are up in heaven looking down on your little sisters.

Missing You
Hi Dick just stopping by to say I miss you and know I care. Wanted you to know mom finally came for a visit and we reconnected after many years. We shared memories and pictures of you and are very proud of the service and sacrifices (only we know) you made for us. Next month will be 49 years you have been gone and not one day goes by I don't think or speak of you. I'll be sharing in the celebration of the reading of the names November 9th is yours please give me the strength to complete it without breaking apart (I know I will) The brothers of your Unit are very kind, supportive and loving always telling me they have my "Six". I can't wait to meet them next year at the reunion which will be 50-years since we lost you it will be my first but the most memorable I'm sure.
Give an hug to daddy and let him know I care. We will be together someday but for now I keep your memories alive.
Love you to the moon and back!

Veterans Day Salute
Another year has passed us by
Another year we've missed each other
I keep your memories alive and strong
Not forgetting all your other Brothers all day long
Your sacrifice and service is a loss to all
Your love and laughter most of all
You are my blood and I am yours
Forever and ever our bond endures
I Love You Brother

You're now my brother.
Richard, although we've never met, you now have another sister. I'm hoping you will like me as much as I do you. From what your sister says and I can believe. you were an extremely special man. You can guarantee that her and none of us will ever forget you, she will never let that happen. She has now become my sister which leaves you being my brother (and you can't do anything about it :)) You and Donnie were both KIA on the same day and I know that you are now friends and brothers too. I want you two to take care of each other and Karen and I will do the same. Just remember, you are a hero who will never be forgotten by any of us..
