Thank You

Dear Cpl Danny Rutherford, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Veterans’ Day is soon.. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Danny lived with my family for a number of months. I remember him leaving to go to Nam...I looked forward to his return...I didn't think he would be gone so long..I was 10 years old..Like Larry Bob Moore we were in the same town with Danny...As a child I loved him like a brother and he always had time for me...I wish he would have come back...but he was dead within six months of going to Vietnam...I think...I was torn apart..we all loved Danny...I wish I could have known him longer...

I played high school football with Danny

I'm sure he displayed the same courage and gallantry in combat that he exhibited on the football field. He always competed hard and never shrank from contact. He was a funny guy with a self-deprecating sense of humor. He was a much better player and man than I.
