Ground Casualty
SSG Samuel Blunt served with Headquarters & Headquarters Company (HHC), 1st Transportation Battalion, 34th General Support Group. While serving in Vietnam, SSG Blunt became ill and was hospitalized at the 36th Evacuation Hospital in Vung Tau on January 3, 1968. He died five days later, reportedly from leukemia.
