Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Jimmie was my friend
Jimmie and I were friends, and I was with him the day he died, as a result of "friendly (artillery) fire." We were both "B" Co., 2/327th Infantry, 101st Airborne. He was a simple and honest young man, whom I remember with respect, for his friendship and his commitment to fulfilling his duty as an American and a soldier.
