Thank You

Dear Sp4 Robert Rogers, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I researched you on the 53rd anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Agent Orange Awareness month. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Ground Casualty

LZ Amy was located in Quang Ngai Province, RVN, within the area of responsibility of Americal Division. Security at Amy was provided by 4-21 Infantry which protected the 4-21 Infantry Command Post Group and D-6-11 Artillery there. At 3:05 AM on March 19, 1969, Amy received a rocket-propelled grenade and hand grenade assault by Viet Cong sappers. The attackers were able to penetrate the LZ while it was occupied by elements of C Company, 4th Battalion, 21st Infantry. During the engagement with the enemy, one American was killed and eleven others were wounded. The lost U.S. trooper was SP4 Robert C. Rogers, an infantryman from B 4/21. Five enemy VC were reportedly killed. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org and 1-20infantry.org]

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Robert Charles Rogers, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
