Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

so many years have passed since I met your mom and family in Austin Tx to honor you as a Marine and bother of platoon 2 E Co 2/9. My letter arrived to Col Fox that day to tell you all how proud Lt Upchurch was of his tough young Marines. Toby you were so courageous that fateful day so many of you walked through the gates of Heaven. I wish I could have met you. That day at the honor ceremony I gave your Mom my Gold Star because some one took hers. that Gold Star had traced back to Vietnam in 1994 to honor all of E Co 2/9. So i was so honored to give it to your mom. I had one at home. May you know you will never be forgotten

Dear Lcpl Toby Rodriquez, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Autumn. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
