honoring you.....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just five days before your 21st birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You

Dear PFC Israel Rodriguez, Thank you for your service as a Pioneer. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Autumn. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Israel Rodriguez, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

" Jose" Israel

Israel and I came into country at the same time. When I asked his name he told me it was Jose, We ended on a 21/2 ton truck from Qui Nhon to Lz lowboy and then out to A company at LZ Max, where we were assigned to the same platoon. We moved from LZ Max to LZ Charlie Brown. One Sunday He asked me if I would take his guard duty so that he could go swimming I said ok. That was the last time I seen him. To this day I still remember that day.I was sitting on top of the guard bunker still pulling his guard duty when the Medi vac landed and took him away. I feel lucky to have known him and and to serve with him for that short three months.
