honoring you....

War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Thank You

Dear Sgt James Riggins, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is soon, and still very sad. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Bus buddy

I remember him when we used to ride the school bus together I never knew his last name till recently. All I remember was his kindness. Learning he had died in Vietnam, was so sad. Learning he died a hero not surprised. He was a hero to me.

Remembering a elementary school classmate

James P. Riggins and I were fellow classmates during the fourth grade in Los Fresnos, Texas Elementary School year of 1958-59. Our teacher was Mrs. Hall Palmer, the only teacher in the school who had a piano in the classroom. The last thing everyday, we sang with Mrs.Palmer playing the piano. Usually the whole class sang together but, sometimes we had to sing individually. I do not remember about James but, I hated that. In later years I learned to appreciate what Mrs. Palmer did with her music sessions and I am sure James did too. James, fellow classmate and fellow warrior brother, may you rest in peace.
