honoring you.....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The poem by Mary DeWitt is touching and reflects the anguish experienced by so many families that lost loved ones in this war.As long as you are remembered you will always be with us….

Thank You

Dear Sp4 William Rigdon, Thank you for your service as an Armor Crewman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is soon, and still very sad. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

For his family

"It was a hot day in July when the preacher and a soldier came to our door.
The news they were to tell us would change our lives forever more.
Mom and dad knew why they were there before they even spoke a word and it wasn't long before I also understood.
For it was on that day back in '69 when they came to tell us that the war in Vietnam had claimed the life of a dear brother of mine.
As we sat around the kitchen table and listened to what they had to say.
I wondered to myself, how will my parents ever survive this day.
You were a loving son and brother, and a friend to many.
And words to describe our loss, well there just isn't any. it's been 30 years now since we laid you to rest.
And when God chose you, he truly chose the best."

He was survived by his mother, Goldie Lee (Grooms) Rigdon, and his father, William F. Rigdon, Sr., as well as his brothers, Larry and Terry, and sisters, Judy Dryden and Bonnie Moran.

I never knew this gentleman, but I will remember him

I've left remembrances for soldiers on probably 80 to 100 profiles. I never knew any of these gentlemen (and ladies too). Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Your family and others will never forget you.
