It's been 54 years ago, but it still seems like just yesterday.
Michael and I served together on the helicopter refueling pad on LZ Uplift. I will always remember him for his good natured manner and his love of his wife and family.
On February 27th, 1970 we both were wounded by a mortar round, and received our first Purple Hearts. I was transported first to Japan, then back to CONUS, then discharged due to disability from my wounds. Michael was patched up and returned to LZ Uplift where he later was fatally wounded. It really is true that "All gave some, and some gave all".
To all of those selfless souls who have so proudly served their country and given so freely of themselves, so that all others may enjoy the freedoms so many before us fought for, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. To my brothers in arms, till we cross over and meet on the other side.

50 years past
IKIE, you have been gone over 50 years, yet I can still see hear your voice, see your beautiful eyes. Our marriage was brief, God had other plans for you that did not include me. You are remembered with love, my dear husband.
