POW/MIA Bracelet

Today while going through my mom's things, I found a bracelet with the name SGT. JAMES RAVENCRAFT with a date of 6-18-68. I hoped I could find his family and let them know my mom wore his bracelet in hopes he would come home safe. Maybe you would like to have the bracelet. I hope this somehow finds your family James.

I honor your sacrifice

I am writing this in honor of the memory of James A. Ravencraft on Veterans Day, 11-11-11. Although I never personally knew you, I wore your MIA bracelet as a young teen. I wore it daily until it finally broke, at which time I safely tucked it away in my jewelry box where it stayed for many years. I would often look at it and wonder who you really were. Even though I never had a face or bio to connect with you, I prayed for you. Little did I know how much my own life would be touched by servicemen. Before I was born, my father served in Africa and elsewhere during WWII. My brother was a young man during the Vietnam War era and was assigned a number, but his number was never called. Now I'm an adult woman with children and grandchildren of my own. My 1st husband served in the Army and Air Force and was deployed to the Gulf during Operation Desert Shield. My 2nd (current) husband is retired from the Navy. One of my sons was in the Army and my son in-law is a Marine currently serving in Afganistan. I now pray for his family and safe return. The spirit of service and sacrifice lives on. May God Bless your family for your ultimate sacrifice.
Fondly, Katherine Dunn
