In honor of your dedication, service, and sacrifice to our Country, our Corps, and our unit, on 8 August 2024 the CAP Unit Veterans Association will honor you by having a brick engraved with your name installed along the walkway of the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia, at the Combined Action Platoon Memorial.

Dear Sgt Dallas Ratliff, Thank you for your service as a Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Defense Specialist. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Independence Day just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

My grandma and SGT Ratliff...or Wes as she called him.. were dating when he passed . I grew up with so many stories, of how they met, how he courted her. Her face tells it all... it was a story so bitter sweet...now i only say bitter because a love so true had ended so tragically. My grandmother still to this day loves that man whole heartedly. I don't think she ever did stop loving him... Although there is no blood relation between Wes and I. I have never considered him anything less than my grandpa. A brave man, who stole my grandmas heart..and still holds it; Shes getting older now, I fear loosing her...but she just pats my hand and tells me not to worry. Dallas was in heaven waiting for her... she had been waiting so long to see him again, and assures me that he will take care of her. So Grandpa I know you saw how much my grandma loves you. Just...please take care of her.. I really wish I could have met you..you've been such a large part of my life. I love you......Casandra Barrett (Nickel)
