Snow Top Drive Inn

I meet (Bobby Blackwell) in 1963 when I started my very first job at " The Snow Top Drive Inn " as a Curb Hop. Gaffney S.C. I was 13 years old. Now 63 years old in 2016. I had no idea he got killed 1 year before I entered The U.S. Army on January 20th 1971. I have thought of him a many times, Because of the story I was told. I was told he served his 1st tour of service and came home and went right back in and got killed in combat in Vietnam.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Robert Lawrence Blackwell, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
